Pentecost

Pentecost marked a major event in early Church history when God empowered the followers of Jesus with a fiery boldness that they could not contain. They each overflowed with ecstatic worship of the Lord that God unlocked a new channel of communication to speak in new languages about the wonderful works of God. The works of God are truly miraculous and wonderful. Sadly, so many of our posts on Facebook decry the current events of our day or capture a new instagram image, rather than reveal a more glorious revelation of the King of Glory. And with that revelation, an opportunity to enter into life in God’s Kingdom.

As a result of all the Spirit-charged sharing, people heard things about God that caused many to be so challenged in their heart to ask what they must do? There was a call to action, a call to repentance, a call to exchange self-serving lifestyles for a God-centered life. And the sharing was not limited to any one people group. The Jewish believers were launched into a multi-cultural, colorful context.

Pentecost laid a powerful blow against racism over 2000 years ago. How far we have fallen from this amazing day to have churches even perpetuating racial prejudice. We have exchanged the fire of God for personal emotional experiences. Today, I’m sorry to say that even in Pentecostal, Holy Ghost churches, few people have experienced the real essence of this transforming anointing. We may have received gifts but many still keep these gifts to ourselves. We have ordained leaders now championing abortion and mercy killing rather than the value each life. I want the power of God that enables me to speak into hearts of all races, cultures and languages. Lets seek more than a good feeling; we need a transforming wind of change! As we meet with God this Pentecost, I’m believing to be filled with a new love for all colours of the Kingdom seen in each face! I want the world to hear a sound that strikes awe and wonder rather than fear or rage
