Impossible situations never have to be the end of our story! We can look at many examples of God’s intervention to turn situations around. Hopeless problems may leave us depressed and even open us up to be bullied or blamed with all kinds of accusation and abuse.
Look at Hannah’s story in 1 Samuel 1. Because she was childless her sister wife bullied her in ways that left her feeling desperate and worthless. Instead of remaining a victim she prayed. She turned her heart towards God and poured her brokenness and pain to God.
Look at the transformation that occurs. By poring out all the pain and suffering out to God there is an openness and a readiness to receive a promise! From fasting and prayer, she received the priest’s blessing that changed her life. Her whole countenance changed receiving this blessing and favor from God. After being filled in her heart with confidence and faith, Hannah ended her fast and her sorrow was turned to praise and worship.
God lives in our praise and worship. This is the essential place where miracles happen. For Hannah, her life was changed when her bitterness was emptied out to God. She received God’s favor and promise, words of life that changed even her intimate moments with her husband into becoming miraculously pregnant!
